Men’s Fashion Brands to Avoid

When it comes to men’s fashion, there are certain brands that I personally avoid. These are based on my own opinions and experiences, so take what resonates with you! We all know fashion can be subjective, but if you are here reading this you probably find my opinion valid (at least I hope). Here are four men’s fashion brands I wouldn’t recommend buying from.

1. Vans

This might be a hot take, but hear me out. Vans seemed poised to become an iconic shoe brand like Converse, but in my opinion, they’ve missed the mark. The brand feels stuck in a millennial fashion rut, without evolving their silhouettes or aesthetics. I think they could really benefit from a brand refresh—much like how Abercrombie reinvented itself after its decline. Plus, the “Off the Wall” slogan feels outdated, and their clothing line lacks excitement and innovation.

2. Shein

No surprise here—Shein makes the list for several reasons. Did you know they produce between 35,000 and 100,000 pieces of clothing a day? On top of that, they add around 10,000 new pieces to their website daily. This massive output comes at the cost of labor exploitation, environmental damage, and subpar quality. Even if you’re just looking for a quick outfit for a trip, consider the bigger picture. If you can afford a vacation, you can afford to skip Shein.

3. Boohoo

Similar to Shein, Boohoo epitomizes fast fashion. Their pieces may look trendy, but the quality is far from reliable. The materials feel cheap, and the designs often look like low-effort copies of current trends. I’m not saying that their clothing is always ugly, but it definitely doesn’t hold up in terms of quality or originality. Don’t just take my word for it—search “Boohoo Man” on your social media feed, and you’ll find plenty of reviews that echo these points.

4. Psycho Bunny

This one is purely about personal taste. Unlike the other brands on this list, it’s not about the quality—it’s about the design. I find their logo unappealing, and the combination of minimalist polos with bold, neon logos just doesn’t work for me. I would never choose this brand when styling clients because the aesthetic feels mismatched and overly loud.

Those are my top four men’s fashion brands to avoid. Let me know in the comments if you agree or have any other brands you’d add to the list! And as always, follow for more fashion tips and insights.
